Posted Oct 30, 2024

The North American Tour of Tony® and Grammy®-winning Best Musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN will make its highly anticipated stop at Miller Auditorium on Nov. 14–15. Adding a special connection to Michigan, two cast members are proud alums of prominent Michigan universities. Michael Fabisch, who plays the title role ‘Evan Hansen’, recently graduated from the University of Michigan, and Caitlin Sams, who plays the role of ‘Cynthia Murphy’, graduated from Western Michigan University.

Michael Fabisch (Evan Hansen)

Hailing from Buffalo, Minnesota, Fabisch’s journey into performance began in community theatre. Venturing further into the craft, Michael spent transformative summers at the Teenage Drama Workshop at California State University. His passion led him to The Performing Institute of Minnesota Arts High School, where he became a four-time winner for Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role from the MN Spotlight Awards.

At the University of Michigan, Fabisch delved deeper into the essence of art, discovering his unique connection to each character he embodies. In 2021, he received first place in the NATS Michigan Collegiate Musical Theatre Competition. Fabisch recently graduated with his BFA in Musical Theatre. He embraces every avenue up ahead and is excited to join the North American Tour of DEAR EVAN HANSEN as the title character. Fabisch would like to extend his heartfelt gratitude to his brilliant mentors, his loving family, and his caring friends for their immense support. @mynameismichaelandiplaypretend michaelfabisch.com
